Movies

The first movie I remember watching as a kid is ‘Die Hard’ – a film that doesn’t really attract the female audience, but my grandfather was the biggest fan of Bruce Willis, so I was introduced to his films pretty much the day I was born. Back in the day (Y 2000) our TV didn’t have a remote control, so every time we wanted to switch channels or alternate the volume we had to stand up and do it manually by clicking the buttons located on the TV itself. What a nightmare, right? And, yap, back then you couldn’t change the channel into a ‘more appropriate’ one in just a blink when your mom stormed into the room without knocking (yes, moms did that in Y2000 as well) and, God forbid, if you watched TV in bed and it was winter, you had to get out of the warm pillow fort you had built, walk aaaaall across the room in your PJs, so you could turn off your television set. I remember my little cousin and I used to play Rock-Paper-Scissors and whoever lost had to freeze on the way to the TV, haha.

Every time I see a good old movie some slipped memory comes back, like, ‘Oh I saw ‘Enchanted’ with my best friend in the movie theater when I was 11. It was just the two of us in the room watching it and we did a bunch of weird stuff’ (no judging, I know you’ve done this too), or ‘Hey, after having to rent ‘Step Up’ 3 times, my dad decided it would be financially wiser, I quote – ‘Just to buy the damn DVD’. And this was in 2006… Oh Barbie… I feel so old.

What I’m saying might not make sense AT ALL because I’m writing this at 2:40 AM and I’m just sharing completely random facts, but what I really mean is that movies have always been the extraordinary part of my life and it’s spectacular how much effect a film can have on you.

So let me introduce you to the movies that made me laugh a million times, made me go to school with red vampire eyes because yes Victoria, of course, it’s a good idea to say up late and watch ‘Titanic’ on a school night. I’ve watched the movies listed below over and over again and I still always find something new to intrigue me every time (omg did that just rhyme? #WritingGoals). I sometimes play them as a background when I’m anxious, I sometimes only check out the ‘best-bits’ right away when I wake up because any day that starts with seeing Melissa McCarthy, Seth Rogen or Johnny Depp must be a good day.

Enough of me mumbling! Long story short – TADADAAAM – here I present you the ultimate list of my all time favorite and most loved movies (in no particular order) :]
